This past summer, both of my boys got married 6 weeks apart. AND, I took my last chick to college. My baby girl chick. Whew! It was a busy summer. And, it was an emotional summer for this momma! I want to share my oldest son’s wedding reception ideas. My daughter-in-law and her mother did an outstanding job decorating. It was stunning!
The bride’s wedding color was a soft pale pink. She used this throughout her wedding reception ideas.
The wedding took place at Belle Meade Plantation in Nashville, TN. It was so picturesque. She was married in the flowering garden located on the grounds, and the reception was in the Carriage House.
The tables were set with white linens. I love how they placed the napkins on the table allowing them to flow over the sides. The centerpieces were simple, yet elegant and classic.
A simple clear vase with a hydrangea stem was the centerpiece of this table. Three simple votive candles made for perfection.
The tables alternated between black lanterns for the centerpiece, and the hydrangeas in glass vases. Here three small glass vases filled with hydrangeas, and three candle votives, nestled the lantern beautifully.
Before guests entered the carriage house, a chalkboard sign announced what would be for dinner. And, it was a delicious dinner!
On a separate table were these mouth-watering drinks. The description of each drink was written on the wooden box. The strawberry lemonade was to die for!
One of my favorite ideas was this adorable candy bar! Each piece of candy was hand selected to keep with the color theme of the wedding.
They made an adorable printed sign that was placed inside of a distressed white frame.
Guests used these personalized bags to pick their favorite sweets.
She added flowers and candles to the table. The monochromatic pink colors were adorable.
Each kind of candy was placed in a beautiful labeled container.
The bride and groom had their own special table.
A Really Smart Wedding Reception Idea
Many guests bring cards and gifts to the wedding. Having a table dedicated for these items is important. But, my favorite idea was having a white mailbox dedicated solely for cards! Great idea!
Instead of throwing rice, guests blew bubbles. Not only was it beautiful, but also made for a great photographic moment. Showing guests appreciation is important. Here a beautiful hand-written sign was placed for guests to see as they exited the Carriage House.
It was a beautiful and special day for our family. And so, the next chapter of life begins.
