You may not have any money to put towards updating your office space right now, that’s ok! Take some time to walk out of your office, and step back in like you are a customer entering for the very first time. What do you see? How do things look? You don’t have to have expensive decor to create an inviting space.
Take some time to clean, organize, and refresh your space. This simple tip can make all the difference in re-decorating!
However if you are someone looking for ideas to update your work space, then check out these offices we have had the opportunity to help design.
Two Business Office Interior Design Ideas
Most recently, we had the chance to redecorate a reception area for a local real estate company. I am so excited to share with you this office makeover. Hopefully you will find some great ideas and learn what little changes can make a big difference!
Check out the before photo below.
One important factor in business office design ideas, is always utilizing our space effectively. This leather loveseat was not utilizing the space to the best of its abilities and the side table was a little bit too large. If you know me, you know I’m going to add a lamp to the side table for extra lighting! (You can never have too much lighting!) The picture above the sofa was not quite the right shape, so we opted for something horizontal to go with the length of the wall. And lastly, we updated the rug to modernize the space but keep it soft.
By bringing in a slim line sofa, we were able to utilize the space so much better. Extra seating! And my favorite part – check out these maps we hung above the sofa. These are my absolute favorite right now and they work great in almost any space! Don’t need maps quite this large? Check out some of my smaller Outline Maps that I have listed on my store’s website for an alternative option.
For the entryway, we brought in this beautiful navy/beige rug that completely updated the space and made it feel so welcoming. These rugs are a client favorite and we use them in a ton of design work! For one, we love the thinness of the rug. Easy to vacuum right over and isn’t a trip hazard! Plus, the durability is out of this world. You can check these rugs out on my store website as well! I can assure you you won’t be sorry with this purchase.
AND, now for our newest store addition (and one of my new favorite lamps!). This ceramic lamp has such a beautiful blueish-gray glaze that is soft enough to add to an office OR a master bedroom. It has a classic crystal base with a white linen drum shade. Lamps are such a simple way to add ambiance to any room! When thinking about business office interior design ideas, you can think outside the box. Add timeless and interesting decor.
This is what you used to see when you would first walk into their reception area. Their logo on the wall is perfect! Such a cool, modern way to advertise. The other pieces int the space made it feel a little bit cluttered. So we decided to take away the two chairs and add a whole new buffet. Something that really commanded the space a little more.
Before we change the front desk area, the client’s utilized this black piece for collecting their mail and other documents. This furniture piece actually fit the space really nicely! However, one of the partners was confiscating it and taking it home. So, we had to improvise! We placed another side table there that was a bit shorter with a tray on top to collect their mail.
Because the piece was so much shorter, we decided to add a clock above it. This clock has such a cool antique face with a burnished aluminum frame. But the best part is the cool rope that it hangs from! What a fun, vintage inspired accessory! You can also grab this one from our website or by clicking the button below:
In the corner where that used to house the floor length sign, we opted for a smaller accent chair with a floor lamp. (Again, with all my lamps!) Because they were a Murfreesboro local business like us, we added some photography of our town courthouse from a local photographer (my daughter). We are ecstatic about the way this reception area turned out and we hope that the clients coming in their doors agree!
Business Office Design Ideas for a Small Office
And last, but certainly not least, I wanted to share with you a quick picture of an office we designed a few months back. This client has quickly become a good friend of ours and working with him is always so fun as he has the “design eye”!
This room used to be this client’s “collect all” room. He needed a new office for a new hire, so we decided to help him create one! We brought in all new furniture, lighting, drapes – almost everything in this room from top to bottom! However, all of our choices had to be pretty small and narrow to accommodate the size of the room. The new lighting and accent wall have made it so cozy. For those of you that always ask me about paint colors – the color is called Peppercorn by Sherwin Williams and it is one of my favorites for a masculine office or bonus room! So beautiful!
