Decorating with a theme of rustic Christmas decor is one my favorite holiday styles. I was recently privileged to be hired to decorate a log cabin for the holidays.
I will be honest, it was one of the most enjoyable decorating jobs I have ever done! So, I would love to share with you some of the ideas I incorporated into decorating this log cabin.
Because this fireplace had so much character already, I wanted to keep the mantel decorations simple. To play up the height of the large stone fireplace I placed two large candlesticks on the ends of the mantel. Simple green realistic pine garland with pine cones and lights, just made the whole mantel beautiful.
A large bow in the middle, gave a focal point to the mantel. I decided running ribbon through the garland was unnecessary. It would just take away from the natural look of the garland.
This 9 ft. tree sits to the left of the mantel. I kept the colors for the tree in very natural browns, bronze, and tan colors. I splashed a little blue into the tree theme using beautiful wired ribbon.
Burlap ribbon is always a perfect choice with rustic Christmas decorations. Here I found a natural woven burlap ribbon, that when paired with glittery Christmas ribbon was the perfect combination.
In the dining room, I decorated the hutch using the same realistic pine garland above the hutch. I ran Christmas lights through the garland, and again used a large bow in the middle.
The simple Christmas plates were a cheap find at T.J. Maxx. I paired them with gold chargers.
This is a beautiful master bedroom. I wanted to keep the room light and romantic, so I chose all white Christmas decorations.
The smallest details make a difference.
Little pine cone birds sit on a window sill. It doesn’t have to be expensive to be simple and beautiful.
A simple Christmas pillow in the middle of the bed added just the right touch.
I love these beautiful frosted pine cone ornaments!
Who Says Rustic Christmas Decor Has to Be Brown?
This room belongs to a college student. Matching the colors already in her room seemed like a fun idea, so I decorated with teal blue and green.
Three large decorated balls hung with ribbon, look fabulous above her bed!
If you are looking for cheap Christmas decorations, you really can’t beat this one!
Sometimes it is the very effortless decorating that makes the most impact.
I love different wreath decorating ideas. Nothing is more country than a grapevine wreath. A simple bow and greenery made this wreath perfect.
This wreath is hung above the master bed. Frosted evergreen always reminds me of the mountains. I love it!
Here, two little reindeer, a little greenery, and a candle add a graceful touch to any piece of furniture. Don’t go overboard on too many decorations.
Here is a sneak peek at the log cabin. It sits on 48 acres. What a fabulous place to spend the holidays!
I found these little trees at the craft store. Thought I would add a little “rustic” to my home!
