Learn to make beautiful sunflowers
Learn how to make paper flowers using brown paper from the craft store! This was a really fun project. You can make these sunflowers for party decoration ideas, or decorating a little girl’s room. If you are looking for craft ideas for adults this one is easy and fun.
You can make these flowers any size. I made my sunflowers pretty large to decorate my dining room for a party.
- roll of brown paper
- yellow and brown spray paint
- hot glue gun
- wooden beads
- small amount of pillow stuffing
||This is the shape you want for your sunflower petals. Decide how big you want your sunflowers to be and make a pattern for the first petal.Next, you want to cut another petal pattern that is roughly about 1/3 the size of your first petal. Cut out about 8-10 petals of both sizes.|
After you are finished cutting all of your petals, take each petal and crinkle them into a ball. This will give your paper flowers dimension and interest.
Smooth out your petal, fold in the middle like shown and staple.
Break Out The Spray Paint
After you have finished stapling your petals, it is time to spray paint them. I chose a very bright yellow gloss finish spray paint. I applied two coats of spray paint. Don’t worry about spraying them perfectly!
Take your can of brown spray paint and spray the tip of your petal. A simple one push spray will get the effect needed.
For the center of the sunflower cut out two large circles and spray paint one circle brown. I used a small salad plate for a pattern.
Hot glue the circles together 3/4 of the way around with wrong sides together.
Stuff a small amount of pillow stuffing into your flower center, then glue shut.
Using hot glue start attaching your petals beginning with your small petals first. Keep them about an inch apart, and go around your flower center.
Add your larger petals next, centering them between your smaller petals.
I found these wooden beads in the jewelry section at the craft store. Hot glue them to your flower center and you are finished!
Well, that is how to make paper flowers! Hope you enjoyed this project!
